About the WHS PTO

The WHS PTO supports the Westside High School teachers, staff, and students through volunteering, fundraising, and supporting programs.

Through these three initiatives, the PTO works to develop and strengthen relations between parents and teachers with a focus on collaboration for the enrichment and benefit of every student at Westside High School.

Support

Support

The PTO works with the school to provide quality education for all students. Appointed PTO members participate in the decision making process establishing school policy and practices. The PTO does not manage the administrative activities of the school, nor does it control the policies implemented at the school.

Volunteering

The objectives of the PTO are promoted through an education program directed toward parents, teachers, and the general public, and are developed through conferences, committees, projects, and programs governed and qualified by the basic policies stated in the WHS PTO by-laws.

Fundraising

The PTO is organized exclusively for the charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All donations are tax deductible, and our Federal Tax ID/EIN is 17606337008. All money raised by the PTO through fundraising activities and programs is to benefit Westside High school and all students.

The Westside PTO works to enhance the learning of the Westside student community and support the vision of Westside High School .

The PTO works to create community among school families through events, socials, and school performances and to provide our students with the tools they need to be successful. We play a crucial role in providing students with the supplies and enrichment programs to enable a complete learning experience. We accomplish this through fundraising and volunteering. Your Westside PTO continually works to responsibly and effectively manage your donated funds and meet the needs determined by school administration.

Your PTO does much more than just help pay for school supplies and equipment, though. We raise funds to provide additional programs and activities outside of a typical classroom experience such as teacher appreciation gifts and luncheons, student field trips, student enrichment programs, and other events to enable students to experience things outside of the classroom curriculum.

I’d like to personally invite you to explore the volunteer opportunities we have and encourage you to get involved through PTO membership.

We have a variety of committees that focus on fundraising, such as School Store, Paw Prints, and a Check writing Campaign. Our Committees also focus on school events such as Homecoming, Prom, and Senior Activities.

PTO general meetings are open to all Westside High School families. Meetings will be announced through social media and the schools ENews. Our meetings are located in S100.

We send informative PTO e-blasts so make sure you add your email to our distribution list - just register on our website to be added.
